Both the JV and varsity Lady Stangs got back to their winning ways. The JV game's 2-0 outcome was much closer than it should have been. Varsity left no doubt in their 9-0 thumping. It took a while to get the first goal, but after Senior Kym Martin got the scoring started the goals came quickly.

Nobody ever said it would be easy. There is a reason the winner of this ALL A region has won the state tournament so often. The small schools up here are really good. The Lady Stangs came away with a big win over Holy Cross. Gabrielle Enzweiler scored a beautiful goal on a cross from Katie Neiser early in the game. From that point on neither team could get great scoring chances and the contest ended 1-0. They now face NCC on Thursday at 4:30. (The JV game will be rescheduled.)

The JV Lady Stangs had the vast majority of scoring chances but ended with another disappointing tie. Krista Kennedy scored the lone goal off a nice effort from Emily Cooper.

The Lady Stangs started their All A regional with a 10-0 shortened game against Bellevue. The game was decided in the first minute when Casey Bode scored her first of three goals.

The Lady Stangs enjoyed a good triple header Saturday vs Simon Kenton. The freshmen earned a 1-0 win, with Carmen Enzweiler getting the lone goal. Abby Anstead earned her first shutout.

In the JV Game, the Lady Stangs built a 2-0 first half lead on goals by Emily Cooper and Kathryn Wilson (her first high school goal). Unfortunately a short let down allowed Simon Kenton to get 2 goals and gain a 2-2 tie. Despite outplaying the Lady Pioneers, the Lady Stangs were unable to get the go ahead goal.

In the nightcap, the varsity Lady Stangs fell behind early, but were able to tie the game on a goal by Paige Baynum. They went ahead on a goal by Emily Sanker. Katie Walz added an insurance goal in the second half as well as anchoring a solid defensive effort.

The varsity Lady Stangs descended on Lloyd Wednesday evening. The outcome of the game was apparent early. Despight sitting out about 7 starters, the Lady Stangs were too much for Lloyd. The goals came often with the Lady Stangs ending the game early on an 11-1 score. Ellen and Krista scored their first ever varsity goals.

8/20/07 The Varsity and JV teams traveled to Scott for Monday's game. JV started the night off with a 2-0 win. Emily Cooper got the game winning goal. Carmen Enzweiler had the insurance goal. Noelle Reinhart earned the shutout.

The varsity Lady Stangs ran to a 3-0 shutout victory. Sweeper Katie Walz and the rest of the Brossart defense kept new keepers McKenzie Schultz and Lindsey Watson nice and bored, allowing the Lady Eagles only a couple of harmless shots. Lauren Heck, Molly Leibel and Katie Neiser provided the offense.

8/19/07 - The varsity and JV Lady Stangs headed south for the weekend to enjoy a very well run tournament at North Oldham. Both teams weren't greeted particularily well by the home team Friday night as they both lost 3-1. After that, the weekend went well with Varsity picking up 3 wins (2-0 over Sayre, 3-2 over Nelson County and 10-4 over Mercy Academy). The JV Lady Stangs beat Sayre and Ballard 5-0 each and lost a miserable game to Nelson County 2-0.

Gabrielle Enzweiller was named to the all tournament team for the varsity Lady Stangs.

Alexis Brueggan received the All tournament team award for the JV squad.

Kristen Erskine picked up her first varsity shutout in the 2-0 win over Sayre stepping in for the injured Clarissa Veneman.

A good start for the freshman team. The game was very close with both teams having good chances to score. Highlands scored first, but the newest Lady Stangs never gave up and Grace Jennings got the tying goal.

Brossart 1 - Highlands 1

A great start to the season as both the varsity and JV Lady Stangs were successful against Pendleton County. The varsity ladies got it going quickly, as Katie Neiser scored about 18 seconds into the game. She had a second goal, a couple minutes later, which should have counted, but it didn't matter in the end. After a dominating performance, they ended the night with a 7-0 victory.

McKenzie Vater had 2 goals to lead the Lady Stangs.

The JV team while dominating play as well, had a much harder time scoring. Finally in the second half freshman Carmen Enzweiller

scored to give the Lady Stangs all they'd need for a 1-0 win.
